BED CARE
Bed care includes hand pulling large weeds and applying a safe herbicide when needed. A pre-emergent will be used in Spring and early Fall. All beds will be fertilized with special applications of micro-nutrients to insure proper growth and appearance. Properly performed and timed pruning will be done based on plant type and desired appearance. Cultivating beds and turning over mulch will be done on an “as needed” basis.
WEED AND PEST CONTROL
Our four time application of fertilizer and weed control is designed for our climate, soil conditions, and normal watering conditions. This allows most lawns to sustain a proper nutrient balance and growth. Grub control is applied in early summer to protect against fall grub damage. Core aeration is performed on established lawns. This helps remove thatch build up, reduces risk of insects and diseases, and helps in air, water, and nutrient exchange.
Because most pest problems are weather sensitive, they should be treated on an “as needed” basis. At Prairie Path Group, we practice integrated pest management. We feel this is the best way to protect the environment and to ensure good health.
SEASONAL CLEAN-UP
Our Spring clean up includes the removal of winter debris, pruning dead or damaged branches, cutting back any grasses and perennials that were left up for winter interest and putting down a pre-emergent weed control product. We also hand edge the planting beds and mulch with a shredded hardwood mulch. Our Fall clean up includes removal of all leaves and yard debris and the cutting back of perennials and ornamental grasses.
PERENNIAL CARE & SEASONAL COLOR
Our Perennial care includes dead heading, cutting back and staking of plants when needed. For additional color throughout the growing season, we can plant annuals in the planting beds and containers.
IRRIGATION CHECK
Water is a vital element in the health and appearance of your landscape. Too much is just as harmful as too little. Whether you water by hand or have an irrigation system, we will work with you to monitor your landscape’s watering needs and suggest changes when necessary.
